Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have Throwback Thursday project to share with you using a card that I received during one of Stampin' Up!'s OnStage Events. I am not sure of the year of the event or the year that I got the swapped cards with Diane Squires but I loved her card and had to case it. Here's a look at my card I will share a picture of the card that Diane swapped with me in just a little bit.
My Throwback Thursday Inspiration:
Here's a look at the card that I got from Diane. Diane blogs at Stamp & Embellish you can check out her other projects there by clicking here.
Okay, so you may be wondering where this Throwback Thursday project idea came from. Well, over the weekend last week I started doing a much needed Craft Studio clean up and reorganizing and I came across my retired stamp sets, dies, and more crafty goodness in my stash that I kept and loved so wasn't planning on selling so I have decided to share a throwback project with these items on Thursdays and miss them with new products. I know that there are a lot of people out there that have sets that have retired from Stampin' Up! that they love but no one shares projects with them anymore. So, look out people I will be sharing some old but goodie sets coming in the future. Break out those favorites and let's play.
Freshened Up Color Scheme:
So, for my version of Diane's card I decided to update it with the Artistically Inked Stamp Set and the Artistic Dies for the leaf die cut that she has on her card. I also updated the cards color scheme as well. I changed the color from the blue she used (which I think is Dapper Denim a past In Color) to the new upcoming In Color Parakeet Party, and paired it with Pool Party and Night of Navy
CASE that Card:
I embossed my 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Pool Party Cardstock with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder before adding it to my 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Parakeet Party Cardstock card base. I then stamped the splatters and small flower image from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set in Parakeet Party Classic Ink onto the Basic White Cardstock panel which was popped up on the embossed layer with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Side by Side:
I then added the detail die cut from the Artistic Dies from a piece of Night of Navy Cardstock. I stamped the greeting in the same Parakeet Party Classic Ink and popped up the sentiment strip onto the card base with Dimensionals. I added a few Basic Pearls on the larger sentiment strip since my sentiment was bigger than the sentiment that Diane used. And my card was complete. Here's a look at both cards side by side.
Thanks for dropping in today; I hope you have a wonderful day and if you need any of the supplies that I shared for my Throwback Thursday Project I have them listed below in the Stampin' Up! Shopping List below. The only items not listed in the shopping list are the new products that I used on my project. They can not be added until the New 2022-2023 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog goes live on May 3rd, 2022.
