Hello and welcome to my blog and this month's Blogging Friends Blog Hop. This month we are hopping in support of World Ovarian Cancer Day on May 8th. We wanted to show survivors, and those that may not have survived, along with their family that we support them. I hope that you find inspiration in this month's hop, and find a little hope as well.
You may notice we have a new graphic this month. It was time to update the graphic and since we have a new catalog out this month it felt like the perfect time.
The support color for Ovarian Cancer is Teal; so you will see a lot of Teal this month. It was hard to pick out which teal to use so I went with Bermuda Bay as the color of my project.
Tips & Tricks:
I used the new Sending Smiles Bundle from the New 2022-2023 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog for my project today. I used a lot of Bermuda Bay on my project as well. I love that the Sending Smiles Bundle has so many different sentiments that can be paired with the Sending die cut and the shadow die from the Sending Dies. I also love that you can cut out the stem and the flowers from the stamp set as well.
I started out my card with the card base made from Basic White Thick Cardstock. I then layered a piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock as my mat layer. I actually cut out the shadow die from the Bermuda Bay layer and embossed it with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. I wanted to have a lot of texture on my project today.
I then cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock to 3 3/4" x 5" and used the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder as well. But before running the Basic White Cardstock through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with the embossing folder I used my Bermuda Bay Ink Pad and inked up the front of the folder to add ink and a little more interest to the Basic White Cardstock. Then I layered the Basic White Cardstock layer onto my Bermuda Bay Cardstock layer. I colored some of the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon with my Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends and wrapped it around the card front and tied a bow before attaching the card front.
To finish off my card I added the die cut stems and flowers to a stitched circle that I cut from Basic White Cardstock using the New Stylish Shapes Dies. This is a great set of basic shape dies that has stitching on the inside and outside of each shape and comes with circles, squares and banners. All the basics shapes besides ovals that you needed. I then added the sentiments on Stampin' Dimensionals as well as the circle. I then finished off the card by adding a few Opal Rounds colored with my dark Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends. Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have a wonderful day and take time to hop along with us and even more importantly. Please please make sure to be checked for cancer. Cancer screenings are so very important.
