Blooming Beauties: Floral Masterpieces for the Kick Off July
Welcome, crafters, to another exciting blog post! Today, we're going to dive into the world of beautiful blooms and create stunning cards using the Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper (DSP). We'll be using the same layouts from our previous blog post on effortlessly transforming 6 x 6 DSP, so if you enjoyed that one, you're in for a treat!
I did change up the products that I used on the cards for today's post and stepped them up just a little to share how you could take last week's post and create totally different looks from them by switching out the designer series paper, stamp set, and cardstocks.
Materials Needed:
Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Coordinating cardstock in complementary colors
Scissors or paper trimmer
Adhesive (double-sided tape, glue, or tape runner)
Sentiment stamps or pre-made sentiments
Ink pads in coordinating colors
Embellishments (ribbons, sequins, or enamel dots)
Card Layout 1 Horizontal Strips:
Cut a piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock to just smaller than your card base. Cut a piece of Hello Irresistible DSP to and adhere it horizontally along the center of the card front. Cut another piece of Hello Irresistible DSP and coordinating cardstock and adhere it to the center of the card base. Add a sentiment and any embellishments you desire.
Card Layout 2: Vertical Strips:
Cut a three piece of Hello Irresistible DSP to the width and mat with coordinating cardstock. Cut a piece of coordinating cardstock and emboss with one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. Add the embossed image to the card base and then add the vertical strips centered on the card base. Add a sentiment and any embellishments you desire.
Card Layout 3: Diagonal Squares:
For this layout, we will create a diagonal square pattern using the Hello Irresistible DSP. Cut the DSP into a square slightly smaller than the mat layers, then cut it on the diagonal in half. Arrange the diagonally pieces onto your card front. Add a sentiment and some embellishments to finish the card.
Card Layout 4: Layered Squares:
For this layout, cut a piece of coordinating cardstock slightly smaller than your card base. Cut four squares from the Hello Irresistible DSP the same size. Layer the smaller square on top of the larger one, centering each in the larger. Adhere the squares to the cardstock base using double-sided tape or glue. You can add dimension by using foam adhesive dots.
