Hey there, crafty friends! I've got a real treat for you today that's all about capturing the magic of summer evenings in a card. So, grab your favorite crafting supplies and let's dive into the world of crafting a stunning birthday card featuring lantern and firefly dies, along with a touch of ink blending and some fabulous stamp sets!

Materials You'll Need:
Lighting the Way Dies: These lantern and firefly dies are the stars of the show. They add a touch of whimsy and enchantment to your card design.
Quite Meadow Stamp Set: This set brings the beauty of the outdoors to your project. You can use the any of the wildflower images to create a serene background.
Happy Birthday Die from the Wanted to Say Dies: A birthday card isn't complete without a heartfelt birthday message. This die set adds a touch of elegance to your sentiment.
Distress Oxide Inks: To create that dreamy twilight background, you'll need some Distress Oxide inks. Choose colors that mimic the warm hues of a summer sunset.
Cardstock and Card Base: Don't forget your trusty cardstock for die-cutting and creating the base of your card.
Adhesive and Foam Tape: A good adhesive is essential for keeping all your elements in place. Foam tape adds dimension to your design.

Creating the Card:
Ink Blended Background:
Start by creating the breathtaking twilight sky. Grab your Distress Oxide inks and blend them onto a piece of cardstock. I like to start with the lightest color at the bottom and gradually work my way up to the darkest color at the top. This creates a seamless gradient that resembles the transition from sunset to nightfall.
Stamping the Meadow:
Using the images from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set, stamp the single floral image from the stamp set in your favorite color of ink and color it with your favorite media. This adds a touch of nature and serenity to your card.

Die Cutting Magic:
Now comes the fun part! Take the Lighting the Way Dies and die cut the lantern and fireflies from coordinating colored cardstock. These die cuts will become the focal point of your card. Add a little more ink blending in a yellow shade of Distress Oxide ink behind where the Lantern and fireflies will go. I also added a little to each fireflies bottoms to help give the illusion that it was lighting the way to the party.
Assembling the Elements:
Arrange your die-cut lantern and fireflies onto the ink blended background. Play around with the positioning until you're happy with how everything looks. Once you've got it just right, adhere the die cuts using adhesive and foam tape for dimension. Attach the floral image to the top of the die cut lantern and a little baker's twine for texture.

The Perfect Sentiment:
Die cut the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Wanted to Say Dies using a complementary colored cardstock. Carefully place it on your card front, adding another layer of depth and meaning to your creation.
Finishing Touches:
Take a step back and admire your handiwork! You've created a stunning summer birthday card that's sure to bring a smile to anyone's face. If you're feeling extra fancy, you can add some sequins or gems for a touch of sparkle.
And there you have it, my fellow crafters! A magical summer birthday card that combines the beauty of nature with the charm of lanterns and fireflies. This design is perfect for celebrating those warm-weather birthdays and spreading a little bit of handmade happiness. So go ahead, gather your supplies and let your creativity shine as bright as those fireflies in the night sky. Happy crafting!
