Handmade Masculine Card: Creating Sophistication with He's All That Stamp Set & Earthen Elegance DSP
Welcome, crafters! We're diving into the realm of handmade masculine cards again today. Today we'll explore the perfect combination of the He's All That Stamp Set and the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper. This dynamic duo offers a sophisticated and stylish touch that will impress any man in your life. Get ready to unleash your creativity and let's begin!
Choose Your Cardstock and Designer Series Paper:
Start by selecting a sturdy cardstock color that complements the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper. Earthy tones such as Pebbled Path, Pecan Pie, or Misty Moonlight work wonderfully for masculine cards. Or you can go with my favorite that matches any card plain old Basic White Thick Cardstock. Cut your chosen color of cardstock to your desired card size. I cut mine to a standard A2 top folding card; which is also my go to for card bases.
Cut and Prepare the Designer Series Paper:
Cut a panel of the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper slightly smaller than your mat layers on your card front. This panel will serve as the background for your card. Remember to align the patterns and colors that best suit the recipient's taste.
Create a Focal Point:
Now, it's time to stamp! Choose a sentiment or image from the He's All That Stamp Set that will be the focal point of your card. Consider masculine elements like a vintage car, compass, or a simple yet impactful sentiment. Stamp the image onto a separate piece of Basic White Cardstock and use one of the matching All That Dies to cut out the sentiment.
Layer and Assemble:
Once you have your stamped focal point, adhere it to the center or slightly offset on the designer paper panels. This layering technique adds depth and interest to your card. If you like, you can also mat the focal point with a slightly larger piece of coordinating cardstock to make it stand out even more.
Add Embellishments (Optional):
To enhance the masculine aesthetic of your card, consider adding subtle embellishments. Elements like twine, some Linen Thread, metal accents (such as small brads) can provide a touch of texture and sophistication. Keep in mind that less is often more for masculine designs.
Decorate the Card Interior (Optional):
For an extra special touch, decorate the inside of your card. You can stamp a complementary sentiment or image from the He's All That Stamp Set. You can also add a small strip of the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper to the inside as well. This step adds a thoughtful detail that the recipient will appreciate.
Final Touches:
Take a moment to review your card and make any necessary adjustments. Ensure that all elements are securely adhered and that the design is visually balanced. You can use an eraser to remove any stray pencil marks or a sand eraser to remove any ink that may have gotten where it wasn't supposed to go. Not that this would ever happen.
