Happiness Abounds Faceted Ornament
Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am sharing a project I made for a couple friends as a little gift. It's a just because gift; so there's no real reason that I made it for them besides I wanted to. But if you wanted to make one for someone for a birthday, wedding, or a shower. It could be hung anywhere, and this is also a perfect gift for a crafter. It’s a fun unexpected gift that looks so amazing; no matter where you hang it.

I started out today’s project by picking the designer series paper and colors that I wanted to use. I landed on the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper as the main item on the faceted ornament. From the designer series paper I picked the colors that I wanted to use. I created this one (which was my first) from a piece of Granny Apple Green Cardstock and some Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon. For the other two that I made I changed up the cardstock and used Coastal Cabana on one and Melon Mambo on another. Sorry I didn't get pictures of the other two; which I regret.

With the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper you can turn your paper crafting projects into a colorful artistic masterpiece. The canvas-looking Hues of Happiness paper features illustrated and painted flowers on one side with all-purpose patterns on the other side. Designed to represent the Stampin' Up! color spectrum, the repeating patterns can be used as focal images (like I did on the faceted ornament) or as accent pieces on your card bases and scrapbook layouts. Or create elegant backgrounds with the color gradient patterned sheets.

The ornament only takes a 6 1/4" x 10 1/2" piece of Cardstock. You are going to score the cardstock on the 10 1/2" side at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 3 3/4", 5", 6 1/4", 7 1/2", 8 3/4", and 10". On the short side you are going to score at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 3 3/4", 5", and 10". On the second and fourth rows you are going to make the middle of every other square at 1 5/8". These you are going to connect both sides of the score lines to this center mark to make the facets. From there it's a matter of folding up everything, and adding the DSP pieces on the ornament. There's 17 places on the ornament that has to have the DSP. To close the ornament up you will use the Ribbon to do that.
