Happy Holidays with Candy Canes - Trimming the Tree

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a SIP card to share with you that's perfect to make lots of for the holidays. It's fast, easy, and festive! I used the Trimming the Tree Stamp Set from the 2022-2023 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog to make this week's SIP Card.

You can make this card with a few pieces of Cardstock some scraps of Designer Series Paper and one die cut shape and a little embellishment. And with just those few items along with some ink you have a festive little Holiday Card.

Color Combination:

The Color combination of the card is Garden Green, Real Red, and Sweet Sorbet. I pulled these three colors from the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper that I choose to use for this card. This is one of my biggest time savers when it comes to making cards. I will pick the Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! that I want to use and pull my colors from the colors in the DSP.

I think that this color combination is a fun play on the traditional color scheme for Christmas. You have a cooler Red which is traditionally used during the holidays, with the Real Red color. And then you pull in the traditional green in the Garden Green. But then you add in a little playfulness with the Sweet Sorbet which is a more pinky warmer red.

Sweetest Candy Cane DSP:

Can’t get enough of candy canes? Now you can sweeten your holiday cards, tags, and scrapbook pages! This paper is brimming with festive canes in different sizes and colors.

If you’re looking for a subtle hint of candy cane, go with one of the candy-cane striped patterns. This holiday paper also includes basic patterns you can use in your crafting all year long.

For this card I used one of the stripped patterns that I had cut down for another project. This was the left-over piece, but it fit nicely on my card front to add a little more texture and to add a seamless blend from the stamping on the background to the rest of the card elements. I then cut out two of the candy canes with my Paper Snips to add to the card. You can also use the matching dies for the Sweet Candy Canes Bundle if you have them. But they were super easy to cut out by hand. I then simply finished the card off by adding some of the Seasonal Adhesive Backed Sequins sprinkled around the front. Thanks for dropping by today!
