Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a super cute little birthday card using the Blessings of Home Stamp Set, and one of my favorite colors. If you follow me you know that Pale Papaya is currently one of my favorite In Colors. I've always been a fan of oranges. As Shelby from Steel Magnolia would say "It's my signature color." Anyway here's a look at the fun little birthday card that I created to share with you today.
Creating Your Own DSP:
I used Pale Papaya Ink and Cinnamon Cider Ink to stamp the small bouquet from the Blessings of Home Stamp Set around my piece of Basic White Cardstock. The Basic White Cardstock is cut at 3 5/8" x 5 1/8". I love to stamp a piece of Basic White Cardstock with an image and feel it up to create my own designer series paper. It's a great way to customize a card. Plus it's a great way to use your supplies that you may have.
Rules of Threes:
Next I layered the stamped DSP up on to a piece of Cinnamon Cider Cardstock that was cut 3 3/4" x 5 1/4". I wanted to pull in more of the Cinnamon Cider and not just have a monochromatic card so this added in that second color. Again if you follow me you know that I love follow the rules of threes. You should always repeat elements, colors, and other components of your projects in groups of threes. This adds visual interest to your project and makes it cohesive as well.
For the sentiment I used a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock and stamped the Have A Perfect Birthday Sentiment in Pale Papaya Ink. I then layered it onto a piece of Pale Papaya Cardstock cut just a little larger then the sentiment strip. This layer was popped up on the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. Do you notice the threes again? I have Pale Papaya Ink, Pale Papaya Cardstock sprinkled around the card and the same with the Cinnamon Cider Cardstock and Cinnamon Cider Ink.
