Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a fun little card to share with you using the Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! and some scraps of designer series paper and cardstock. Here's a look at my card.
Scrap It Up:
This is a fun little card as I mentioned and can be so playful depending on what you have in your scrap stash. You can create so many cool looks with them. I used scraps from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper for the candles and the 2" x 5 1/2" piece of DSP on the left hand side.
To make the flames for the candles I used the top of the Elegant Tag Punch and my Paper Snips to make the flames. Actually not as hard as you may think. It just took a little scraps of some Pale Papaya Cardstock and slide it in the top.
If you look at the Elegant Tag Punch above you can see that the center portion has the same shape as the bottom of the flames. I just simply took my Paper Snips and add the top portion of the flame. See I told you it would be easy. I bet you didn't even think that that was how I created the flames was it?
To finish the card I added a sentiment from the Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiment in Pale Papaya Classic Ink onto a piece of Basic White Cardstock. I then die cut it out with one of the Rectangle Stitched Dies. I popped up the sentiment and added a few Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels to add a little sparkle and shine. As I am looking at the card again since I created it a few months ago: I think that if I recreated this card again I would add one single Champagne Rhinestones to each of the flames as well. This would add a little more life to the flames, and make them stand out a little more.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope that you have a wonderful day. If you need any of the supplies you've seen today. I hope they are still in stock when this post goes live but since the Last Chance List came out last Wednesday I can not promise anything.
