Lovely & Lasting Embossed Treat Bag by Rick Adkins

Hello and welcome to my blog; today is the first day of September and there's a lot going on today so I will have a couple posts today. But first off the 3D Thursday Projects Team has started back today! We bring you a new 3D project and tutorial each week by one of the team members. This week we are all doing a blog hop using the Embossed Treat Bags from the 2022-2023 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog found on page140. We don't have tutorials for these projects this week but each of us have simple instructions on our blogs so you can be inspired and recreate the projects. Let's jump in shall we.

For my project I decided to use my Blending Brushes and add a little color to the Embossed Treat Bags since they come white. I used Pale Papaya Ink (no shocker there), Sweet Sorbet Ink, and Night of Navy Ink to create some ink blended colors on the front of the bag.

The Embossed Treat Bags make gift giving a pleasure. These bags feature a fun embossed pattern that will make your gift memorable. They also have a handle for easy carrying. This bag is perfect for last-minute gifts—just pop in your gift and you're ready to go!

You get 10 Food Safe bags in a pack. Each bag measures: 4-3/4" x 6-1/2" x 1-1/2" (12.1 x 16.5 x 3.8 cm) when opened. Don't let the measurements fool you like they did me into thinking these were small bags, they are not they are the perfect size for all types of gifts.

Tips & Tricks:

After I had done all the ink blending on the bag I then took a dry paper towel (Viva Brand, because it's my brand of choice for watercoloring and it's what's in the studio) and buffed the ink to make sure non of it came off from the embossed areas.

Next I took a piece of Lovely Linen Designer Series Paper cut at 2" x 12" and an additional piece cut at 2" x 4" (just to make sure it would go all the way around the bag) and married them together with strong adhesive to make a piece that was a little over 2" x 15 1/2". I then added two strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the top and bottom on the reverse side. I then took my strip of DSP and attached it with a smaller strip of Tear & Tape on the front on the smaller side, and slowly started wrapping the bag. Along the corners and sides I just pinched press the DSP into the edges of the bag. I then started removing the Tear & Tape Backing to secure the DSP into place.

After wrapping the entire bag I added the Stamped my focal image. I used the large floral image from the Lovely & Lasting Stamp Set inked up in Pale Papaya Ink (stamped off once) and then stamped my sentiment in Night of Navy in the center of the stitched circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I added this circle onto a scalloped circle cut from Sweet Sorbet Cardstock. I added both to the center of the DSP with Stampin' Dimensionals. Then to finish off the bag I added some tissue and the gift to the inside and added a few of the 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds to the front of the circle and tied it closed with some of the White 3/4" Frayed Ribbon.
