Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a 3D Thursday Tutorial to share with you that I created for this week. My project this week is a fun one that can be used for many occasions. It uses the Pretty Pillowbox Dies that are a stand alone die set in the 2022-2023 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.
I decided to go with a very classic looking color scheme for my project today because I know that you ladies all love little black dresses and you have to have the little purse to match so I created this fun little gift bag in the shape of a purse using the Pretty Pillowbox Dies. Here's a look at this super cute little project that's perfect for a gift to a friend.
I went with a sentiment that could be for many occasions but it's perfect for a gift. I got the sentiment from the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set. All the sentiments in that set fit perfectly in the tag that was cut from Basic White Cardstock using the tag die from the Pretty Pillowbox Dies. The small flowers on the purse used as decorations also came from the same die set and was cut from Fresh Freesia Cardstock and Gorgeous Grape Cardstock.
The base of the purse was made from a piece of Basic Black Cardstock. For the base I cut the entire pillowbox out from the Pretty Pillowbox Dies. But for the top I only cut off the top flap of the pillowbox using some of the Pearlescent Specialty Paper. But before I ran it through the die I had embossed it with the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder for a little added fun and texture. I then layered that section of the embossed paper over the top flap just slightly offset. This doesn't really show in the pictures but it's there.
Pretty Pillowbox Dies:
There are 11 dies in the Pretty Pillowbox Dies that allows you to create adorable gift and treat packaging. The die set includes dies to cut a pillow box that you can assemble and fill with small treats or gifts. But you can modify the die cut to make the purse just like I have today; I have the full tutorial on how to do so below. I used the embellishment pieces to dress up your pillow box plus added a few Pastel Pearls to the flower centers the skies the limit with embellishing. You could create 3D flowers by layering and offsetting the petal images if you wanted a more detailed flower. I decided to keep it simple since it was a simple black dress that inspired today's project. The pillowbox die is sized to be cut out of a 6" x 6" (15.2 x 15.2 cm) piece of cardstock or pattern paper. Use your favorite image and greeting stamp sets to further decorate your gifts. Use a strong adhesive like Stampin’ SEAL+, or Tear & Tape Adhesive to assemble the box. Here's a look at the Pretty Pillowbox Dies I think this will help you to see what set I am talking about.
Here's one more look at this weeks 3D Thursday project for you. I think that you will really love creating these for your friends when you want to give them a little gift. They are quick and easy and super, super, cute to give away. People just love them. I mean who out there doesn't love a little purse.
