Slim Sayings Gift Bag Pop Up Graduation Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a fun little graduation card that I made for Charles to give to his cousin. She is graduating this month and he wanted something in their school colors and that showcased her love of Basketball. Oh, and it had to be able to hold a gift card. So, I made him a Gift Bag Pop Up Graduation Card using the Slim Sayings Stamp Set and a few other supplies.

For the front of the card I used the Timeless Tiles Background Stamp and placed it in my Stamparatus. I inked up the stamp with both Crushed Curry Classic Ink and Merry Merlot Classic Inks before stamping it onto a piece of Basic White Cardstock. After trimmer the stamped panel down a little I mounted it onto a piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock and added it to the card base made from a piece of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Merry Merlot Cardstock.

I then stamped the Congrats to the Graduate on a piece of Basic White Cardstock in Merry Merlot Classic Ink and added that to a mat layer cut from Crushed Curry Cardstock. I added a banner made from Merry Merlot Cardstock and flagged the ends with the Banner Pick A Punch. To hide the seam of the two colors of ink on the card front I added a piece of Gold Glitter Washi Tape that I had in my stash from a few years back. Next I added the sentiment panel with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I stamped a piece of Basic White Cardstock with the basket ball from the Retired For the Win Cling Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored them with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Combo Pack and my Pale Papaya Stampin' Blends Combo Packs. I then created the gift bag pop up part of the card. I used pieces of the Fan Baker's Twine for the handles. I then added a panel to the inside with another sentiment and a place that Charles could write his personal message. I added a little more of the Gold Washi Tape that I found in my stash. I will link to the video on how to make the Gift Bag Pop Up Card below. The measurements for the bag and how I created it are all there in that video even through it's a different card.

Finishing Touches:

I finished the card by adding a few of the Resin Star Embellishments from the 2022 January - June Mini Catalog. I used the Bumblebee colored ones that way they would be a close match to the outside layers. It's such a subtle difference that it's not even noticeable. Thanks for dropping by today I hope you have a wonderful day I have linked all the items used to make this card in the shopping list below.

Happy Stampin'
