Throwback Tuesday Project
Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a super cute project to share with you where I took a project I designed a few years back and updated it with current products. The Lovely & Lasting Stamp Set & Lovely Linen DSP are in the 2022-2023 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog and can be found on page 25. This was a super fun challenge and project and I know that you are going to love it. Here’s a sneak peek at today’s featured project along with the project that inspired it. And in this blog post I will give you some tips & tricks on how to recreate it as well.

Throwback Tuesday Inspiration Project:
First off let's look at my inspiration project for this weeks throwback. I pulled a card project from two or three years ago (I think at least, it could be a little older). The inspiration project was created when the Ornate Garden Suite came out and used the products from that suite. This project used the Gilded Gems (which just retired), and the Ornate Flowers 3D Embossing Folder (which also just retired), as well as the Ornate Garden designer Series Paper the matching ribbon, and the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set.

The retro paper inspired me to create a project with a lot of texture but I wanted to DSP to be the pop of color for this card. So, I created a large circle die cut from one of the designs and used that as the focal point.
Modern Version:
For the modern version I was feeling the vibes that the Lovely Linen Designer Series Paper was putting down. I was digging the colorful texture that this design from the pack was giving off, so I used it as the replacement for the embossed panel from my original design.

Since the I flipped things a little and went with the paper as the main item of texture for the modern version of this card. I designed to stamp the largest floral image from the Lovely & Lasting Stamp Set as the focal image. I mean why not since it's a fun vintage inspired stylized floral it just screams to stand out; right!

I stamped the large floral onto a Basic White Cardstock circle in Sweet Sorbet Classic Ink. I then cut it out with a 2 1/2" circle from the Layering Circle Dies. And attached it to the DSP and mimicked the same layout of the inspiration card. I cut off the left-hand edge just as I did with the inspiration card.

To finish off the Morden version of the card I added a few of the 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds, and sprinkled around the card to replace the Gilded Gems. I kept the same Style sentiment layer with the strip of Basic White Cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy Classic Ink (where as the original sentiment on the inspiration card was stamped in Terracotta Tile Classic Ink). I replaced the Calypso Coral Bow with a bow made from the Sweet Sorbet 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon.
I hope that you like the modern version of this card. Thanks for dropping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day. I have all the supplies listed for the modern version of today's project as well as all the supplies I used on the original card in case you have those products on hand and would like to recreate it.

Happy Stampin'
