Tropical Leaf Stampin' Up! Hello Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a fun card to share with you using a stencil I made with the Tropical Leaf Punch from the March 2023 Online Exclusive Release from Stampin' Up!. I am in the middle of taking a class about stenciling techniques at Online Card Classes by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner; and this was based on the first lesson.

Creating Your Own Stencil:

To create the stencil you will take a piece of heavy weight cardstock or window sheet and punched out the leaf pattern using the Tropical Leaf Punch. I punched some out just plan and one or two I overlapped. I have a video coming out this afternoon at 3 pm CST on my YouTube Channel on how I made my stencil and another card that I will share tomorrow with you.

Ink Blending:

Next I started the ink blending process. I picked out my two colors of ink, grabbed my Blending Brushes, and my home made stencil. I used Blushing Bride and Poppy Parade Inks today. I then layer my stencil down and started ink blending with my Blushing Bride Ink in selected areas. I then added a few in Poppy Parade Ink. Next I rotated the stencil and added more leaves in the same manner until I had all the card front filled with tropical leaves.

Finishing Touches:

To finish off the card I took the stencil again along with a Gold Gel Pen and when around the card front and outlined certain leaves. This created more interest and added a little bit of sparkle to the card. I then cut the Hello from both Basic White Cardstock (three times) and the Rose Gold Specialty Paper (once) and stacked them together.

I added the sentiment to the card and then added a sub sentiment from the Charming Sentiments Bundle heat embossed in White onto Black Cardstock. I took the same Gold Gel Pen and traced around my card panel once I attached it to the card base. This gave me a thin frame without having to cut gold foil and it matched the gold on my project perfectly. Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have a wonderful day.
