Wishing a Lifetime of Happiness - Crane of Fortune

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you an absolutely stunning card that I made this week using the Crane of Fortune Stamp Set and the matching Symbols of Fortune Specialty Designer Series Paper. And I think you are going to love it. Here's a look at the card I made to share with you today.

Tips & Tricks:

I started out my cutting a piece of Gold Foil Sheet down to 3" x 4" and stamped the crane from the Crane of Fortune Stamp Set on that with Stazon Jet Black Ink. I then let the ink dry for about 10 minutes. I wanted the ink to be completely dry because I knew I wanted to dry emboss it with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. Well, actually I debossed it but that was because I placed the Gold Foil image on the wrong side, but I think it turned out great still.

Next I layered the stamped and embossed piece of Gold Foil Sheet onto a mat layer of Basic Black Cardstock cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/4". I then set that aside so I could work on my card base. The card base was made from a 4 1/4" x 11" (scored at 5 1/2") piece of Basic Black Cardstock. I added a Basic White Cardstock layer on the inside of the card so I would have a place to write a personal message. I then cut a piece of the Symbols of Fortune Specialty Designer Series Paper to 3 3/4" x 5" and layered that onto a mat layer made from a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Basic White Cardstock. I added the card fron to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Finishing Touches:

To finish the card I took a piece of Basic Black Cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and covered it with White Embossing Powder from the Basics Embossing Powders. I then heat set the embossing powder. Next I added Black Stampin' Dimensionals on the center of the sentiment strip and attached it to the gold panel. I then added a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the overhanging pieces and wrapped it around. I then set that aside for a little while I decided that the card base needed something else.

I wrapped about 18" of the Gold 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon around the inside of the front of the card base and tied it in a flat knot. I then took the gold embossed panel and added Black Stampin' Dimensionals to the back side and popped it up on the card front. I added a few Brushed Brass Butterflies to finish it off. Thanks for dropping in today I hope you like today's project and if you need any of the supplies I used today you can pick them up in my online store by clicking on the item in the shopping list below.
