Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have another card using the Soaring Swallows Bundle to share with you. This fun little springtime bundle is from the 2022 January-June Mini Catalog and can be found on page 46. This is also the bundle that I featured in my Monthly Online Card Class this month. If you missed that yesterday I will link to the post here so you can watch the replay. Here's a look at the card I created to share with you today.
The Soaring Swallows Bundle includes the Soaring Swallows Stamp Set and the Swallows Dies. You can mix and match the stamped images with die-cut elements to create textured, colorful, and beautiful birds. The sentiments in the stamp set are sized perfectly to fit inside the banner piece in the dies to create greeting elements for your paper projects.
The set includes two graceful swallows in flight and a variety of sentiments that cover many occasions. This set can be used for several stamping techniques some of which I shared yesterday. The swallows can be stamped and colored using your favorite coloring media. Or easily add color or texture with the Two-Step pieces inside the stamp set. Depending on which region in the world you live in, you can customize the color of the birds to match the swallows that live near you or you can go all out and create fun colored birds that you would like to see. I went on my own with today's card sketch and this weeks color inspiration of Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral.
As I mentioned above I used Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral, and Basic Gray and my main colors today on my project. I did this because it's the color scheme for Monday and today is my card sketch for this month on my Creative Calendar. You can download your own copy of my April Creative Calendar here.
You will also find the sketch that inspired today's card on my Creative Calendar Page as well, but I have shared it here as well.
A Whole Lot of Texture:
I took a piece of the Brushed Metallic Cardstock and cut it down to 2" x 5 1/4" and embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. I then took a sanding block and went over it to add more texture before adding it to the Calypso Coral Cardstock Mat.
Next I simply added the branch and flowers. But, I thought it needed a little more color so I die cut the branch one more time but in Old Olive Cardstock. I then cut off the Old Olive leaves with my Paper Snips and aded them to the branch over the Basic Gray leaves with a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
To finish off the card I added the two stamped swallows to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals and the sentiment as well. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray Ink onto a piece of Basic White Cardstock before using the sentiment die from the Swallows Dies to cut it out. Thanks for dropping by today.
