Hello, my crafty friends! Today, I’m sharing a sweet and fun card featuring the Dragon Fun Bundle from The Rabbit Hole Designs. This little dragon completely stole my heart—he’s such a playful image, and he’s perfect for an apology card like this one. Sometimes, you just need to say “sorry” in the cutest way possible, right?

A cute card with a smiling green dragon and "Sorry for roaring at you" text. Background has pastel stripes and scattered confetti.

When I first saw the Dragon Fun Stamp Set, I immediately thought of how many ways I could use these adorable dragons. For this card, I decided to give him a bright green body with soft yellow accents—he practically pops off the card front! I used my Ohuhu Brush Markers on OLO Premium Marker Blending Card, which I’ve found blends beautifully and makes coloring a breeze. I always keep some scraps of that cardstock on hand because it’s so smooth and perfect for alcohol markers.

One of the things I love most about the Dragon Fun Bundle is that it comes with coordinating dies. I’m not the biggest fan of fussy cutting, especially with these more intricate designs, so having those dies is a huge time-saver. After I cut him out, he was ready for his starring role!

Adorable Dragon Card: Sorry for Roaring at You – Featuring Dragon Fun Stamp Set:

Building Dimension and Texture

I wanted to keep the card clean and simple but still add a little bit of texture. To do that, I embossed a strip of Brilliant White 110 lb Smooth Cardstock with the exclusive 3D Floral Embossing Folder that came with my Platinum Scout Machine bundle from Scrapbook.com. If you’ve never used a 3D embossing folder before, let me tell you—it’s such a game changer! The deep texture it creates really makes a simple white background feel special.

Here’s a little pro tip: When I use 3D embossing folders, I lightly mist my cardstock with water first. This helps the paper mold into all those beautiful details without cracking. And when I’m done, I just trim off any excess that overhangs my A2 card base. My trusty Tim Holtz 9.5 Inch Titanium Shears make that easy—sharp scissors make a huge difference for clean edges.

Creating a Crisp, Layered Frame

I’ve always loved how a simple frame can anchor a focal image, so I turned to the You’ve Been Framed Die Set from The Rabbit Hole Designs, paired with the Precision Layering A2 B Etched Dies from Spellbinders. I nested the smallest rectangles from both sets to create a delicate, layered frame that adds just the right amount of dimension. To pop it up, I used 2mm foam adhesive strips—just enough to give the card a little lift without adding too much bulk for mailing.

Fixing Little Oops Moments

We’ve all been there—right at the end of a project, and then… a smeared sentiment! That happened to me here when I stamped “Sorry for roaring at you” directly onto the card base using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. But here’s the thing: it’s not the end of the world. I keep a little jar of white cardstock strips on my desk for just these kinds of moments. I restamped the sentiment on one of those strips and adhered it right over the smeared one. Problem solved! If you ever feel like a card is “ruined” because of a slip-up, remember there’s almost always a way to rescue it. And honestly? Those little fixes can sometimes make a card even more special.

Finishing Touches for Extra Charm

To bring my little dragon to life, I added white gel pen highlights to his cheeks and wings, plus a bit of black gel pen to his eyes. Those tiny details make such a difference in giving stamped images personality and shine. And of course, a few Crystal AB Rhinestones sprinkled around the card give it that finishing touch. I love how the subtle sparkle makes the dragon feel even more magical.

Final Thoughts

This card is a great example of how a simple design can still feel fresh and dimensional with the right textures and pops of color. And honestly, who wouldn’t feel a little better after receiving an apology from this charming dragon?

If you’re feeling inspired to make your own dragon card, don’t forget to grab the Dragon Fun Bundle with the coordinating dies—it’s a real time-saver and makes creating cards like this one so much easier. And remember: little mistakes are just part of the crafting process. Keep those cardstock scraps handy, and you’ll always have a quick fix when you need it.
