Hello, crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a bright and playful card that I created using the Colorful Friends Stamp Set from C. C. Designs. This project is all about celebrating friendship and color, and it gave me the perfect excuse to dive into my stash of rainbow glitter paper—definitely a favorite of mine when I want to make a card that really pops!
I’ve been reaching for this stamp set again and again lately because the characters—Patty O'Green, Stromy, and Tickled Pink—are just too adorable to resist. They’re the perfect way to bring a little magic and nostalgia to your cards. I think we could all use more of that, don’t you?

Friends Make Life Colorful: Colorful Friends Sneak Peek
Bringing the Characters to Life
For this card, I stamped these three cuties onto Hammermill Smooth 100 lbs Cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I love how crisp and clean the lines turn out with this ink—it’s one of my go-to’s for alcohol marker coloring because it doesn’t bleed. I pulled out my trusty Ohuhu Brush Markers to bring these sweet characters to life. I don’t know about you, but coloring always brings back memories of afternoons spent with a new box of crayons and a blank sheet of paper—there’s just something so relaxing about filling in those little spaces with color.
After coloring, I fussy cut the images with my snips. Fussy cutting can be a bit meditative for me—I like to put on some music or a podcast and just let the scissors do their thing. Pro tip: if you’re not super confident with your cutting, remember to turn the paper, not the scissors. It makes it so much easier to get those smooth edges!

A Rainbow of Glittery Goodness
Once my images were ready, I turned my attention to the background. I wanted something that would really set off those sweet characters, and rainbow glitter paper felt like the perfect fit. I cut a top-folding A2 card base from Brilliant White 110 lbs Smooth Cardstock—it’s sturdy and gives such a clean, professional look.
The rainbow strips came from my Rainbow Glitter A2 Paper Pad (from SBC), and I cut them in varying widths to create a playful pattern: red at 1 inch, orange at 3/4 inch, yellow at 1/2 inch, and the green, blue, and violet at 1/4 inch each. I skipped the indigo to keep it bold and bright.
Lining up these strips can be a little tricky, so here’s my favorite tip: use a ruler or grid mat to help keep them straight. Start at the bottom with the red strip and work your way up—if you’re like me, seeing that rainbow come together strip by strip is such a satisfying moment!

Assembling the Card
With the rainbow background in place, I added foam adhesive behind each of the colored images to give them a little lift and dimension. There’s just something special about how that bit of foam can make your characters pop right off the card—it’s like magic!
For the sentiment, I went with the classic “Friends Make Life Colorful.” I stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black Ink on a scrap of white cardstock. Then, for a little extra pop, I drew a shadow layer around the sentiment with a pencil and fussy cut it out. If you’re not comfortable freehanding the shadow, here’s a neat trick: lay the stamp back over your sentiment, line it up, and lightly trace around the edges. It’s a foolproof way to get that fun, layered look!

I added foam adhesive behind the sentiment and placed it right at the top center of the card front. To finish it all off, I tucked in a few rhinestones around the sentiment and gave each one a tiny white highlight with my White Bold Gelly Roll Pen—just those little finishing touches that bring everything together.

Let Your Creativity Shine
This card was such a joy to create because it’s such a happy little piece of mail—rainbows and friends are always a winning combination in my book. If you’re ever feeling stuck or uninspired, I highly recommend reaching for some rainbow glitter paper or your favorite colorful scraps. Color has a way of making everything feel fresh and new again.
