If you like to kick off the New Year with a little sass (and a lot of personality), this card is going to be right up your alley! For today’s project, I created a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" square New Year card featuring the Resolutions are Rubbish Pissy Kitty Stamp Set from Unity Stamp Company, and honestly… this kitty says exactly what we’re all thinking. I started with a top-folding square card base using Neenah Ultra Thick Cardstock, then stamped the image onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lb Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I positioned the image toward the top since I knew I’d be trimming it down later to fit the square design, and then brought this grumpy little fluff ball to life using my Spectrum Noir TriBlend Markers.

To add some extra wow without overwhelming the design, I layered the colored image onto a mat cut from the Holographic Mirror Paper – Metallic Paper Pad from SBC, which adds the perfect festive sparkle for a New Year card. Behind that, I created a bold chunky square frame using Midnight Black 110 lb Cardstock and the Chunky A2 Scallop Rectangles Wafer Dies from Simon Says Stamp, using a partial die-cut technique to get the size just right. The sentiment was stamped and die cut with the Everyday Sentiment Banners Lawn Cuts from Lawn Fawn and popped up with foam adhesive for extra dimension. Inside the card, I carried the same black and holographic gold accents for a polished, cohesive look. A few white gel pen highlights and a touch of Star Dust Stickles were the final details—and just like that, this snarky New Year kitty was ready to judge everyone’s resolutions in style!
