Hello, my crafty peeps! I’m so excited to share today’s card with you because it’s all about bringing a little bit of magic to our crafting table. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I find myself searching for that one design that’s playful yet still clean and layered. Well, I think I’ve cracked the code with this card. It features some of my favorite products from The Rabbit Hole Designs LLC: the Dragon Fun Bundle, the Clouds In My Coffee 6 x 6 Stencil, and that oh-so-pretty Spring Floral #1 Pattern Paper Pack.
I’ve always loved dragons in folklore and fairy tales, so working with this bundle was pure joy. Plus, I love how those soft pastel colors can take something fierce and make it feel whimsical and sweet. It’s like giving those dragons a whole new personality!

Our Friendship Is Magical: Dragon Fun Bundle
Creating a Dreamy Scene with the Dragon Fun Bundle
Creating that perfect dreamy backdrop was half the fun. I started out by stamping three of the adorable dragons from the Dragon Fun Bundle in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto OLO Premium Blending Card. If you’re looking for a crisp black that doesn’t smudge with your alcohol markers, Memento is always my go-to. I reached for my Copic Markers in those sweet, soft pastels that matched the Spring Floral #1 Pattern Paper Pack. It’s amazing how just picking a patterned paper first can really guide your color choices. I’ve found that having that “roadmap” in front of me saves a ton of time.

Adding Layers and Playful Frames
Once the dragons were colored and die-cut with the coordinating dies, it was time to play with layers. One of my favorite tricks to create dimension and interest is to frame images. So I rummaged through my die stash and pulled out a polaroid frame die. I love how those little windows turn any image into an instant focal point.
For the inserts of the polaroid frames, I used the Clouds In My Coffee 6 x 6 Stencil to softly blend some clouds with Catherine Pooler Inks: Sage, Blue Raspberry, and Rose Petals. I love how those soft blends feel like a little peek into a dreamy sky. And here’s a little pro tip—when ink blending smaller panels, taping the back of your panel to a scrap of cardstock helps keep those fingers clean and the panel from moving around.

A Patterned Paper Accent and Sentiment Repeats
The card base is pretty simple: Brilliant White 110 lbs Smooth Cardstock cut to 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2" for a top-folding A2 card. I trimmed that sweet floral patterned paper to 3" x 5 1/2" and added it to the right side of the card. It’s such a fun way to balance all the color and texture without overwhelming the card. I popped the card into my Mini MISTI and stamped “Our Friendship Is Magical” repeatedly in Midnight Ink up the edge of the pattern paper. Starting in the middle and then working my way up and down made sure that sentiment was perfectly lined up.

Bringing the Card to Life
Then it was time for the fun part—stacking those polaroid frames. I love how a little offsetting here and there makes everything feel more playful and less structured. The dragons fit perfectly into each frame, and I popped them up with some foam adhesive squares for that extra dimension. The best part? Alternating the colored dragons with the different ink blended frames really makes each one pop.
To tie it all together, I added just a few white gel pen highlights with my Bold 10 Gelly Roll White Gel Pen. A few dots and lines here and there make those dragons sparkle. Finally, a sprinkle of Sugar Confetti Embellishment Mix from Trinity Stamps added just the right amount of shimmer and fun.

Final Thoughts & A Little Cardmaking Inspiration
I always think about how these little details—like the stenciled clouds or the offset polaroid frames—can make such a difference in a design. And the best part? You can totally swap in any critter stamps you have in your stash for a completely new look while keeping the same layout.
So that’s my magical dragon card for today! I hope this inspires you to dust off those cute stamps and play with layering and frames. Let me know if you give this idea a try—I’d love to see how you make it your own. Until next time, happy crafting!
