Rick's Color Challenge 19 - Spring Color Pallet

Updated: 5 days ago

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a fun colorful card using a fun Spring color pallet that you will use over and over again.

Today's card is also part of my Crafty Color Challenge. For this color combo we are using Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, and Tahitian Tide.

Background:

For the background panel of my card I used the Rings Builder Stencils from Waffle Flower. This is a layering stencil set that allows you to create a fun and colorful ring design. I only used the three colors of inks from the challenge (Calypso Coral Ink, Melon Mambo Ink, and Tahitian Tide Ink) to ink up the stencils to create the beautiful pattern.

To create the different tones of the colors I used a heaver application of ink on some of the arches to create the rings and lighter applications on others. I cut the panel down with my A2 Rectangle Dies and matted it onto a panel of Basic Black Cardstock. I then added that with some scrap cardstock behind for dimension to a top folding Basic White Thick Cardstock card base.

Focal Image:

For the sentiment and focal image on my card I started out by using the CZ Design Hello Wafer Dies from Simon Says Stamp. I cut the shadow die from Basic Black Cardstock and the word die from Basic White Cardstock. I cut the word die three times for some added dimension. Once I had the three hello die cuts all glued together and laid out on my card I decided that it needed just a little more color. So I took the left over ink that was left on my Small Blending Brush where I used the Calypso Coral and applied a gradient of color over the bottom half letting the color fade out towards the top. I then attached the word die cut to the shadow die.

I then stamped the flowers from the Petal Park Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Ink along with two of the single leaves and tucked them behind the Hello sentiment. Once I had the flowers attached where I wanted them I then attached the Hello sentiment die cut. To finish off the card and add in just a little more of the Tahitian Tide color I colored three Rhinestone Basic Jewels with my Dark Tahitian Tide Stampin' Blend and attached them to the centers of the flowers. Thanks for dropping by today I hope you enjoy my card and I hope you play along with the color challenge 19. I have all the supplies that I used listed below. Below my Stampin' Up!
