There’s just something about fall that makes me reach for warm kraft cardstock, a cozy cup of coffee, and a pile of pumpkin stamps. Today, I’m sharing a clean and layered card design featuring the Fall To Go Stamp Set from Unity Stamp Company—a set that combines all my favorite things about this season: coffee, pumpkins, and that thankful feeling that comes with crisp mornings and cozy afternoons. If you’ve ever wanted to create a card with subtle dimension and texture without making it too bulky for mailing, this design might just be your new go-to.

I’ll admit, I love a good layered card, but I also love slipping my finished cards into an envelope without wrestling with thick embellishments or popped-up pieces. This card solves that little crafting dilemma with a few clever techniques that make it look dimensional while staying flat enough to mail. Let’s talk about how it all came together.
Clean & Layered Fall Coffee Card | Unity Stamp Company Fall To Go
Crafting a Warm Autumn Base
When I started this project, I wanted the design to feel earthy and cozy—just like your favorite fall latte. Kraft 110 lb Smooth Cardstock was the perfect choice for that warm, rustic tone. I stamped the to-go cup image from the Fall To Go Stamp Set twice using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, giving myself two versions to work from.
Here’s a little pro tip: whenever you know you’ll be adding fussy-cut layers, go ahead and stamp an extra image or two. It takes almost no extra time, but it gives you the freedom to cut and layer without worrying about making a mistake. Plus, you’ll often find creative ways to use the extra stamped pieces on another card later.

Building Subtle Layers for Dimension
Once I had my two stamped panels, I colored one completely and the other only in the areas that would show once layered. Using my TriBlend Markers, I brought the pumpkins, flowers, and belly band to life with rich orange and deep green tones. Then came the fun part—fussy cutting.
I carefully trimmed out the to-go cup with the colored pumpkins, flowers, and band using my Mini Recoil Snips, which give me that perfect control around delicate details. After cutting, I ran the edge of a Memento Tuxedo Black Dual Tip Marker along the sides to give it that clean, finished look. It’s a small step, but it makes your fussy cutting look polished and professional, almost like a die-cut piece.
Layering these cut elements onto the second stamped image with a mix of foam adhesive and a touch of liquid glue gave me just the right amount of lift. I love this combo because the foam adds height while the liquid glue gives you a few seconds to shift things into perfect alignment.

Adding Hand-Drawn Charm
To give the card a touch of whimsy, I added a freehand squiggly border using my Uni POSCA Extra Fine White Paint Marker. It’s amazing how a few simple lines can transform the entire look of your card—suddenly it feels hand-illustrated, playful, and intentional all at once.
For highlights, I reached for my Uni POSCA Extra Fine Metal Tip Paint Marker and added tiny white touches to the pumpkins, leaves, and little hearts. These small details make your coloring pop and add that little extra sparkle that makes handmade cards so special.
A quick pro tip here: when adding white pen highlights, less is more. A few small touches where the light naturally hits your image can make a huge difference without overpowering your design.

Sentiment, Shine, and a Polished Finish
Every good coffee-themed card needs a message that warms the heart. The “Thankful, Grateful, Blessed” sentiment from the same Fall To Go Stamp Set felt like the perfect finishing touch. I stamped it beside the mug using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink for a crisp, bold impression that stands out beautifully against the kraft background.
Once everything was assembled, I adhered the panel onto a top-folding A2 card base made from Neenah Ultra Thick Cardstock—my go-to for sturdy, professional-feeling cards. To finish, I scattered a few orange rhinestones around the design for a subtle shimmer that ties in with the fall color palette.
This card may look simple at first glance, but it’s those clean layers, fussy-cut details, and small highlights that give it a rich, dimensional look without adding bulk. It’s proof that sometimes, less really is more.

Final Thoughts
This clean and layered fall coffee card is a great reminder that dimension doesn’t always have to mean heavy or complicated. With just a few smart layering tricks and a touch of hand-drawn charm, you can create cards that feel cozy, detailed, and easy to mail.
So, next time you’re crafting with your favorite stamp set, try stamping an extra image and layering it up—you’ll be amazed at how much life it adds to your design. And if you’re like me, you might just find yourself reaching for kraft cardstock and a warm mug every time the leaves start to change.
