Creating the Magic: Materials and Techniques:
The Perfect Stamp and Color Combo
One of my favorite parts of this project was working with the Pixi Dust Stamp Set. These fairies are simply adorable and bring a whimsical element to the tags. I started by stamping three fairies onto a piece of white cardstock. Using my Artisto Premium Colored Pencils, I spent a cozy afternoon coloring them in. There’s something so relaxing about adding color to these little characters—each one seems to come to life with every stroke of the pencil.
Once the fairies were colored, I used the matching Fairy Pixi Cuts to cut them out. If you’ve never used coordinating dies before, you’re in for a treat. They make cutting out intricate shapes so much easier and give a clean, professional look to your projects.
Creating the Heart Tags
Next, I moved on to creating the tags themselves. I used the Peek A Boo Heart Tag B Dies to cut out three tags from the Bella Flowers Pattern Paper. This paper pack is full of lovely floral designs that add a touch of elegance to any project. I also cut the inside of the tags from Neenah Solar White 80 lbs Cardstock. This cardstock is my go-to for a sturdy, clean finish.
Layering the three pieces of the heart-shaped tags together was a simple but satisfying process. The Peek A Boo Heart Tag B Dies are designed to create a lovely layered effect that adds depth and interest to the tags. After assembling the tags, I stamped an inside sentiment into each one. There’s something so charming about opening the front flap to reveal a heartfelt message inside.
Adding the Finishing Touches
To add a bit of sparkle and magic, I used Stardust Stickles and my Clear Overlay Sparkle Pen. A touch of glitter can really make your projects shine and catch the light beautifully. I also added different ribbons through the opening at the top of each tag. Ribbons are a great way to finish off a project and add a polished look. They also make it easy to attach the tags to your gifts.
Personal Touches and Pro Tips
A little tip from my craft room: don’t be afraid to mix and match your patterned papers. The Bella Flowers Paper Pack has a variety of designs that work beautifully together. By using different patterns for each tag, you can create a coordinated but unique set of gift tags.
Another pro tip is to use foam tape to adhere the fairies to the tags. This adds dimension and makes the fairies pop off the tags, creating a more dynamic and interesting look. And don’t forget to customize the inside sentiments to suit the occasion. Whether it’s a birthday, thank you, or holiday gift, a personalized message always adds a special touch.
