Hello and welcome to the blog; and happy Thursday! I am super excited to share with you this months Sketch & Shine Pattern Paper Picks projects, template, and how to video tutorial. This month I am featuring a design and card sketch that allows you to make the most of your 12 x 12 winter themed pattern paper.
Sketch & Shine:
The January Sketch & Shine Pattern Paper Picks will allow you to create twelve A2 size cards using just one sheet of 12" x 12" pattern paper. I picked a winter scene for my cards today but you could change your paper and make them however you wish. This would be a great one to mass produce some birthday thank you or like I did thinking of you cards. You will find the downloadable template for this month below in the post.
Video Tutorial:

What You Need:
With this month's template you will need six sheets of of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock cut into twelve A2 cardbases. For my card bases I picked Concord & 9th's Harbor Cardstock. For my pattern paper I picked a snowflake design from a paper pad in my stash but I could not find the one I used anywhere but I did find the Christmas Fun Collection from Paper Rose which has a lot of the same patterns. The second cardstock I picked was Teal Topaz Cardstock from Spellbinders.
My sentiment came from the Slimline Floral Stamp Set from Scrapbook.com. I also picked two blue teal colors of ink from Pinkfresh Studios. I went with two of the newer ink colors from them. I picked Waterfall and Atlantis. Which by the way was the darkest and lightest colors in this color family. They also sell the Amalfi Coast Color Family (four color sets) in both the Full Size Ink Pads and Ink Cubes. I like this because I can pick which size of ink pads I want and fits my budget. For my embellishments for my cards I picked the Sea Glass Embellishment Mix from Trinity Stamps.
Here's a look at the cards that I created with this months Sketch & Shine: Pattern Paper Picks template. I did do a little ink blending on my pattern paper to add in a little more color to the cards. But I created the sketch to take advantage of the pattern paper as well as to create an easy spotlight effect with the paper.
To draw more interest into the card I added three of the Sea Glass Embellishments to three of the random snowflakes on the 2" circle of pattern paper. I did forget to mention that you will need a 2" circle punch or die to cut out the circle on the pattern paper and a 2.25" circle punch or die to cut out the circle mat layer.
I picked the lighter color cardstock for the card base because I knew I wanted to stamp the sentiment directly under the pattern paper layer. I wasn't sure which sentiment I was going to use from the Slimline Floral Stamp Set. They both would have worked. But the Hello was just a little to big for my card design. I will save it for another card.
Here's a close up look at the ink blending on the pattern paper. And I did use a bigger blending brush to do the ink blending. I picked the Yoseng 6 Pack Flat Top Blending Brushes up from Amazon a few months ago. I do like them because they have a stand that they can be slide in and not get ink all over the place. And they are each different colors so I can have one for each color family.
