Hello, crafty friends! Have you ever needed a baby card quickly, but still wanted it to look like you spent all afternoon carefully crafting it? That was exactly the situation I found myself in recently. A friend called me last minute needing a sweet card for a baby shower, and I knew I didn’t have time for complicated die cutting or hours of coloring. Instead, I turned to one of my favorite fast card making tricks: patterned paper.

Today I’m sharing a really simple and beautiful design using the April 2025 Echo Park Card Maker’s Kit, featuring the adorable Winnie The Pooh Baby Collection. The best part? You can make a handful of these cards in no time just by switching up your patterned paper choices. I can’t wait to show you how it all came together!

The Products That Make It Easy

When you have great supplies, cardmaking gets a whole lot easier — and this kit absolutely delivers. I used:

Having everything coordinate right out of the gate took the guesswork out of the design process. It’s one of my favorite things about working with curated kits like this — you know the colors and patterns are going to complement each other beautifully.

A Simple Formula That Works Every Time

For these cards, I kept the layout exactly the same and simply switched up the patterned papers for variety. It’s a great formula to keep in your back pocket because once you have a layout that works, you can recreate it over and over with different products for a completely fresh look every time.

Here’s what I did:I started by cutting the first piece of patterned paper to 4" x 5 1/4" and adhered it flat to the card base. Then I cut a coordinating pattern to 2" x 4" and layered it across the bottom third of the card. This gives a super simple, polished look without needing any fancy tools.

Pro Tip: When mixing patterned papers, look for different scale — pair a bold print with a smaller, quieter pattern to create balance and keep the design from feeling too busy.

Adding Personality with Sentiments

Once the backgrounds were down, it was time to add some personality with stamped sentiments. I pulled two small tags from the Frames and Tags pack and stamped sweet sentiments from the exclusive Winnie The Pooh Baby Stamp Set onto each one using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I also stamped the adorable building block images from the same stamp set, spelling out “BABY” onto some scrap white cardstock. After stamping, I quickly sprinkled on clear embossing powder and heat set them for that beautiful glossy finish that just makes everything pop a little more.

After fussy cutting the blocks out with my favorite snips, I added both the tags and the blocks to my card fronts using foam adhesive. That little bit of dimension makes all the difference, giving the cards a polished, professional feel without adding a lot of bulk.

Pro Tip: If you ever feel like your card needs a little something extra, try adding just one or two elements with foam adhesive. It creates depth and draws the eye exactly where you want it to go.

Finishing Touches That Shine

No card is complete without a few embellishments, and the Winnie The Pooh Baby Collection Enamel Dots were the perfect finishing touch. I sprinkled a few around each card for just the right amount of shine.

I also tied a little bit of twine through the tag holes and finished them off with tiny bows. It’s such a simple addition, but it brings so much softness and charm to a baby card.

As I was tying the bows, it reminded me of the first baby card I ever made years ago — I tied the twine way too tight, and the whole tag bent like a banana! These days, I always leave a little slack in the twine to keep everything neat and flat.

Why I Love This Card Design

This card design really is one of my favorites for busy seasons (or busy days!) because it’s quick, easy, and endlessly customizable. Whether you need one card or a whole set, just changing out the patterned papers gives each card its own special personality without having to reinvent the wheel.

Plus, the mix of stamping, heat embossing, and layering gives the cards a handcrafted look that feels thoughtful and polished — exactly what I want when gifting handmade cards for special occasions like baby showers.
