Halloween always sneaks up on me. One minute I’m finishing summer birthday cards, and the next, I’m knee-deep in pumpkins, bats, and candy corn. If you’ve ever found yourself wanting to make a few festive Halloween cards without spending hours stamping or coloring, you’re going to love today’s project. I’m sharing three quick and easy clean and simple Halloween card ideas featuring the Halloween Hollow 6 x 6 Patten Paper Collection, Halloween Hollow Embossed Die Cuts, and the Halloween Hollow Embossed Tags & Tickets from Paper Rose Studio. These cards come together in minutes, but still look layered, detailed, and full of seasonal charm.

Halloween cards on display with cute characters, pumpkins, bats, and text "eek," "trick or treat," "Ghouls just wanna have fun."

What I love most about this collection is how beautifully everything coordinates. The patterned papers, embossed die cuts, and tags all have this warm, storybook feel that’s whimsical without being overly spooky—perfect for sending to friends or family who enjoy a little Halloween cheer.

Quick & Easy Halloween Card Ideas ft. Paper Rose Halloween Hollow

The Collection That Makes Cardmaking Effortless

Let’s talk about the stars of the show. The Halloween Hollow 6 x 6 Pattern Paper Pack is packed with cozy fall colors, playful illustrations, and a great mix of backgrounds—from spiderwebs and stripes to full scenic designs. When you pair that with the Halloween Hollow Embossed Die Cuts and Embossed Tags & Tickets, you have everything you need for quick and cohesive designs.

I built all three of my cards on Paper Rose’s A2 Top Fold White Card Bases. If you haven’t tried these yet, they come pre-cut and pre-scored, and they’re nice and sturdy—perfect for layered projects. You can grab a pack of 20 for $7.77 USD or $10.95 AUD. I love having these ready to go because it saves so much time and keeps my workflow smooth.

Pro tip: keeping a stack of quality pre-made card bases in your craft room is a small investment that pays off big in productivity. When you’re ready to create, all you have to do is grab a base and start building.

Trick or Treat Under the Moon

For the first card, I fell in love with that sweet pattern paper (from the Halloween Hollow 6 x 6 Pattern Paper Pack) featuring the moonlit sky and pumpkin patch—it instantly sets the scene. It reminded me of those cool autumn nights when my siblings and I used to race down the street, trying to fill our treat bags before the candy bowls emptied. That nostalgic vibe is exactly what I wanted this card to capture.

I added a few of the critters from the Halloween Hollow Embossed Die Cuts, popping two of them up with foam adhesive for depth and leaving one flat for balance. The “Trick or Treat” label from the Halloween Hollow Embossed Tags & Tickets made the perfect sentiment, and a few of the Clear Crystal Embellishments added just the right amount of sparkle.

Pro tip: if you ever need embellishments in a specific shade, try coloring clear gems with an alcohol marker. I used one of my Ice Gray Triblend markers to tint the crystals here—it’s an easy way to coordinate your bling with your design.

Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun

The second design is all about playful simplicity. I started with a 2-inch strip of striped pattern paper from the Halloween Hollow 6 x 6 Pattern Paper Pack, layered with a thinner coordinating strip for a bit of contrast. That stripe instantly gives the card energy and direction without being busy.

The sentiment “Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun”—paired with that adorable ghost wearing a witch hat from the Halloween Hollow Embossed Tags & Tickets—made me smile the second I saw it. I popped it up on foam adhesive and added the heart balloon die cuts to give it a cheerful, floating feel. A few Clear Crystals finished it off and kept everything cohesive.

This is one of those layouts you can easily recreate for any occasion—just swap out the patterned paper and focal image. It’s a great go-to formula when you’re short on time but still want a clean, professional result.

Eek! A Bookish Witch

For the third card, I wanted to lean into that classic Halloween orange. The spiderweb background paper from the Halloween Hollow 6 x 6 Pattern Paper Pack was perfect for creating a bold, graphic base. I layered a few additional paper strips to add variety and texture, then centered the embossed “Eek” tag (from the Halloween Hollow Embossed Tags & Tickets) as my focal point.

The little witch reading her book was just too charming not to use. She instantly reminded me of cozy nights spent reading spooky stories under a blanket fort as a kid. I added a lantern, a branch, and a bat from the Halloween Hollow Embossed Die Cuts to complete the scene and sprinkled a few of the Clear Crystal Embellishments around to balance the design.

Pro tip: when working with busy patterned backgrounds, grounding your focal point with a neutral frame or border helps it stand out without overpowering the rest of the card.
