We Fly Spooky Sky Tutorial | Spooky & Sweet Halloween Series Day 3 | Video

Updated: Sep 23

Hello crafty friends, my project today is part of my Spooky & Sweet Halloween Series! I love the movie Hocus Pocus and I had to use the Hocus Pocus Stamp Set from Penny Black to create a fun card using it. I couldn't think of a better way to do that than create a card featuring a spooky night time sky scene.

We Fly Spooky Sky Scene Card:

I started out my card by creating the spooky night time sky. I used the Layering Moon Stencil (from Spellbinders); which is sold out every where. So, I linked to the closest one I could find for your shopping ease. I inked up the first layer of the stencil using Versamark Ink and a Domed Sponge Blending Tool onto a piece of Mixed Media Black Smooth Cardstock. Once I had the first layer inked I removed the stencil and applied a little Perfect Pearls.

Once I had the first layer of color applied I layered up the second layer of the stencil and applied another layer of Versamark Ink. I then applied a layer of Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Pearls. For the next layer of the stencil I used Weathered Wood Distress Oxide Ink. For the last layer of the stencil I used Unicorn White Pigment Ink; which I also used for the Swirling Stars Stencil.

For the rest of the night sky scene I used the Cloudy Stencil and different shades of Distress Oxide Inks (listed below in the supply list). I also used the Grassy Stencil to finish off the scene. I then stamped image from the Hocus Pocus Stamp Set onto some Hammermill 100 lbs. Smooth Cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Ink and colored it with my OLO Markers (colors listed below). Once I had Winnie colored I used my Tim Holtz Scissors to fussy cut her out.

I attached the card front to a piece of Wildberry Cardstock cut 1/8" larger then the card front. I then attached the card front to a top folding A2 card base. I then attached Winnie to the card front with some Instant Dimension Foam Tape. I then cut the We Fly sentiment from both the Black Smooth Mixed Media Cardstock and Wildberry Cardstock. I layered the two colors together and off set the black layer behind just a little. I then attached the sentiment to the card front.
