My card today features the Sweet Birthday Cling Stamp Set from the House-Mouse Summer 2024 Collection. I colored this sweet little guy up using my Prismacolor Colored Pencils on a piece of Light Yellow Cardstock from the Meadows Cardstock 80 lbs Collection (from Spellbinders). This is the same pack of cardstock that I used on the last card I shared with the House-Mouse Summer 2024 Collection. If you missed my card from Friday you using the Pop! Cling Stamp from this collection you can catch it by Clicking Here!

Stamping & Coloring the Image:

To stamp the image from the Sweet Birthday Cling Stamp Set I used my Memento Rich Cocoa Ink Pad and stamped it onto a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" of the Light Yellow Cardstock from the Meadow Cardstock 80 lbs Collection. The Meadow Cardstock Collection features a beautiful assortment of solid core cardstock with a smooth finish. This cardstock has enough smoothness to stamp beautifully and also enough tooth that it holds onto the pigment from your colored pencils really well. Making it idea for stamping and coloring with colored pencils. You get two sheets of the 10 colors in the pack, that has a nice selection of colors perfect for spring time and even summer time cards.

The Sweet Birthday Cling Stamp Set features the adorable little Mudpie snacking on a yummy looking slice of birthday cake. If you didn't know Mudpie is a true "Mouse-Potato" his favorite things to do is to eat and sleep. So, this stamp set showcases him perfectly eating the big slice of cake looking like he's about to fall asleep doing so. I colored him with my Prismacolor Colored Pencils in his traditional color scheme. He normally has brown fur; so I used the following pencils numbers from darkest to lightest (1082, 945, & 1080). For his skin I used 1092, 1093, and 140. I also used some of these same colors for the icing on the cake and the inside of the cake as well. I did add in a few additional colors to those areas as well as adding in a little blue, green, pinks, and purples to the other elements. I used those same colors on his party hat as well. I picked colors that would go well with the Light Yellow Cardstock from the Meadow Cardstock Collection.

Once I had my image colored I used my Precision Layering A2 Rectangle Etched Dies Set B to cut out the panel. I believe I used the fourth die in from the outside to cut the panel out. I also trimmed down five strips in various colors from the Meadow Card Stock Collection into 1/2" strips. I used two strips of Light Teal Cardstock, I strip of Light Yellow Cardstock and two strips of the Light Pink Cardstock.

I stamped my main sentiment on the card front with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. And then I stamped a sub-sentiment on one of each of the colored strips in Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink (on the Light Pink Cardstock strip), Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Ink (on the Light Yellow Cardstock strip) and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Ink (on the Light Teal Cardstock strip). I staggered the sentiments to fill up each of the colored strips.

I attached each strip to the center of the my A2 size card base with Bearly Arts Glue. I then attached the focal image with a little Instant Dimension Foam Tape. To finish off the card I added a few white gel pen highlights with my Sakura White Bold Gelly Roll Pen. I then added and a little Stardust Stickles to the party hat and candles for a little extra sparkle and shine. And there you have it my friends, that's how I created todays card using the Sweet Birthday Cling Stamp Set.
