Easy Budget Friendly Birthday Cards:

I don't know about you, but I'm always on the lookout for ways to stretch my crafting budget without compromising on style or quality. That's why I'm super excited to share this project with you. We'll be using the Four Season 4 Paper Pad from Hobby Lobby (this pad is sold out but they do have a new version out called Four Seasons 5 Paper Pad) and a few other affordable supplies to create six stunning birthday cards that are sure to wow your friends and family.

Now, before we dive into the nitty-gritty of card making, let me share a little story with you. A while back, I found myself in a bit of a crafting rut. I was itching to create something beautiful, but my budget was tighter than usual. Sound familiar? Well, that's when inspiration struck! I decided to challenge myself to create a set of birthday cards using only supplies I already had on hand, plus a few budget-friendly additions. And let me tell you, the results were nothing short of magical.

So, if you're feeling stuck or uninspired, don't worry! We've all been there. But trust me when I say that a little creativity can go a long way, especially when it comes to card making. And today, I'm going to show you just how easy and affordable it can be to create stunning handmade cards that are perfect for any occasion.

First things first, let's talk supplies. For this project, you'll need:

Now, I know what you're thinking - "Rick, that sounds like a lot of stuff!" But trust me, these are all basic supplies that you probably already have in your crafting stash. And if not, a quick trip to your local craft store (or a browse through your favorite online retailer) should do the trick.

Once you've gathered your supplies, it's time to get down to business. Start by selecting three coordinating sheets from your Four Season 4 (5) Paper Pad. This part is always my favorite because I get to play with all the pretty patterns and colors! Once you've made your selections, cut each sheet in half at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".

Now, here's where the magic happens. Take those halves and cut them into pieces for the card fronts, center panels, and inside strips. I like to mix and match the patterns to create a unique look for each card. It's like putting together a puzzle, and the end result is always so satisfying!

Next up, it's time to add some stamped and heat-embossed balloon images to our cards. I love using the Festive Balloons Stamps Set (from Simon Says Stamp) for this step because they add a touch of whimsy and charm to any project. Simply stamp your chosen design onto Vellum Cardstock using either Soft Navy or Hot Lips Dye Inks, sprinkle on some Clear Gloss Embossing Powder, and heat set for a glossy finish. Then, use the matching dies to cut out each embossed image and attach them to the card fronts.
