Hello and welcome to my blog! Today's an exciting day WOW Embossing just released their newest embossing powders! And they are fabulous. Today's release included; WOW's Polished Silver Super Fine Embossing Powder, Wow - Trio Dappled Effects: Fruit & Nut *Marion Emberson, Twist & Shout Trio, WOW! Trio Dappled Pearl Effects *Marion Emberson, WOW! Trio Pastel Pearls, and the Wow - Trio Delicate Blooms embossing powders. So, you can see a pretty big release today of some fun new embossing powders that can be added to your collection.
My project features the WOW! Trio Dappled Pearl Effects. These three beauties features ocean themed colors two different shades of teal, and a fun lime green color. For my project I created a Just a Note card with a little vintage flare. To add a little more color to my project I also added in a little of the Pastel Pink Embossing Powder and a little of the Platinum Super Fine Embossing Powder for a little bling.
Vintage Postage:
I started out my card by cutting out my white cardstock with the Postage Collage Die. This made it easier to line up the stencil. Postage Collage Rose Stencil and a Foam Blending Tool with my WOW Embossing Pad. I pressed the Foam Blender into the pad and then would press each layer through the area on the stencil working one color at a time. Once the area was inked up I would apply the chosen color of embossing powder and heat set. I started out with the roses on each layer. For the the roses I used the Pastel Pink Embossing Powder.
Once I had all the roses done I moved on to the leaves. For the leaves I used a combination of the WOW! Trio Dappled Pearl Effects I would apply one color to some of the leaves and two or more colors to the other set of leaves. This created a fun variegated look to leaves and made them more realistic looking. For the little sparkle areas on the stencil I used the Platinum Super Fine Embossing Powder.
You can see in the photo above just how pretty the three colors in the WOW! Trio Dappled Pearl Effects really are. And they are even better once heat set. Once I had all the heat embossing done for the roses I then took my Cutter Bee Scissors and cut each postage stamp apart (so I have more to play with on another project). Then the real fun began.
I took my Speckled Egg Distress Oxide and my Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Inks and did a little ink blending around the edges. I also used those same colors to ink up the edges of my card stock mat layers.
To finish off my focal panel on the card I used the Confetti Heart Stencil and a little Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and filled in the white cardstock. This added a little more texture and interest to the card front. Plus it add a little more pink to the card front as well.
To finish off my card I added the Just a Note sentiment and a couple small hearts to a strip of white cardstock. The sentiment, outside banner, and hearts came from the Happiest Day Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and covered it with my Clear Gloss Super Fine Embossing Powder. I then used the Platinum Super Fine Embossing Powder on the box outline and the Pastel Pink Embossing Powder on the two hearts.
