Halloween is one of my favorite seasons for crafting because it gives me the perfect excuse to play with bold patterns, bright colors, and a little bit of spooky fun. But let’s be honest—sometimes the thought of pulling together a festive card can feel overwhelming, especially if you don’t have hours to spend on a single design. I’ve been there too: I used to overthink every layer and detail, only to run out of time before finishing. That’s why I love projects like this Fast & Fabulous Trick or Treat Halloween Card. It looks like you spent forever piecing it together, but in reality, it comes together quickly with just a few key supplies and a simple layout.

How to Make a Fast & Fabulous Trick or Treat Halloween Card
Why This Card Works
The secret behind this design is patterned paper. The Spooky A2 Paper Pad from Scrapbook.com does so much of the heavy lifting here. Those playful patterns—like the little googly eyes, bats, pumpkins, and stars—instantly create a festive backdrop without the need for complicated techniques. Pairing several coordinating patterns in a block-style layout makes the card feel layered and polished while still being super quick to put together.
Another key player is the Trick or Treat Stamp Set, also from Scrapbook.com. The bold sentiment takes center stage on a bright orange strip, and the little ghost and pumpkin add just the right amount of character. I colored those images with OLO Markers, which blend beautifully and give even simple images a lot of depth. A quick pro tip here: when coloring small images, I like to keep the shading minimal—just one darker marker for shadows and one lighter shade for highlights. It saves time and still looks professional.

Playing with Inks and Stamping
For the sentiment, I reached for my Pinkfresh Studio inks, which are some of my favorites for crisp, colorful stamping. They’re vibrant and consistent, so I knew the sentiment would pop against the patterned background. The black outlines of the ghost and pumpkin were stamped with Tuxedo Black ink, which is always my go-to when I’m planning to color with alcohol markers. It prevents smudging and keeps the lines sharp.
Here’s another pro tip: stamp a few extra images while you’ve got everything out. Even if you don’t use them on this project, you’ll have them ready for your next card. I have a little container on my desk where I keep “extras,” and they often save me when I need a quick card in a pinch.

The Fast & Fabulous Factor
This card design is part of my Fast & Fabulous: Cards in 4 Easy Steps series. The steps are always simple:
Prep your card base.
Create a background (in this case, with patterned paper).
Stamp and color your images.
Assemble everything with finishing touches.
What makes this particular card so fun is how those patterned papers make it look like you spent ages layering and designing when really, it’s all about smart paper choices. I love projects like this because they take the pressure off—sometimes the hardest part of cardmaking is just getting started, and knowing you can finish a card in minutes helps break through that creative block.

Download the Quick Card Guide
If you’d like the exact measurements I used for this card, I’ve created a Quick Card Guide you can download. It includes the dimensions so you can recreate this layout exactly or adapt it for other themes. These guides are designed to take out the guesswork, making it easier to focus on the fun part—stamping, coloring, and pulling it all together.
Watch the Video Tutorial
If you’d like to see the card come together step by step, I’ve shared a full video tutorial at the end of this post. You’ll see how I pulled the layout together, colored the images, and added the final details to finish the card. It’s always amazing how a few simple steps can create something that looks so polished.

Final Thoughts
Halloween crafting should be fun, not stressful. This card proves that you don’t need complicated techniques or hours of time to create something festive and fabulous. With a bold sentiment, playful patterned papers, and just a couple of colored images, you can make a card that feels unique and special without overthinking it. I hope this inspires you to grab your Halloween supplies and give this design a try.
