Blow Art Technique: A Game-Changer for Christmas Card Making
In the realm of Christmas card crafting, it's all about finding innovative ways to stand out and make your cards truly special. The blow art technique is a game-changer in this regard. Whether you're a seasoned card maker or just starting on your creative journey, this technique is bound to impress.
What Is Blow Art?
Blow art is a unique and captivating technique that involves using your breath, some alcohol markers, and rubbing alcohol to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind patterns on your Christmas cards. The key to success with blow art lies in Hero Arts' stamp sets, which provide the perfect foundation for this creative endeavor.
Getting Started with Blow Art
To begin your blow art adventure, you'll need a few essential supplies:
Alcohol Markers: You are going to want markers that are nice and bold in color. The lighter markers will not put down as much ink on the paper.
Rubbing Alcohol and a dropper: You will want to use plain old rubbing alcohol from the drug store or big box stores for this. But you do want the ones that's 97% or higher to make it work really well. I prefer the strongest one I can get!
Yupo Paper & Cardstock or blank cards: The Yupo Paper will serve as your canvas for the blow art masterpieces. It will not work on regular or glossy cardstocks. I scarified a sheet of both glossy cardstock and regular cardstock to the crafty gods already trying to see if it worked. So, to save you the time, frustration and money I already tried it.
A straw or a special blow art tool: This is what you'll use to direct your breath and create stunning patterns on the paper.
