Hello, crafty friends! The holiday season is here, and you know what that means—Christmas cards galore! Whether you're gearing up to send out a stack of handmade cards or just want to add a personal touch to a few, I’ve got you covered with three clean and simple designs that pack a festive punch. Plus, I’ve got some exciting news about The Rabbit Hole Designs’ Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. You won’t want to miss this!
Today, I’m sharing a trio of Christmas cards featuring the 1 Line Holly, 1 Line Snowman, and 1 Line Reindeer Stamp Sets, paired with some of my favorite stencils. These designs are quick to make, easy to customize, and perfect for those last-minute cards. Let’s dive in!
Three Clean and Simple Christmas Cards:
Festive Reindeer Delight
Let’s kick things off with a card that’s all about cozy, rustic vibes. The 1 Line Reindeer Stamp Set stole my heart the moment I saw it. There’s something about its whimsical, sketchy style that feels both modern and timeless.
For this card, I started with a simple color palette—greens and browns—with a pop of white for contrast. I ink blended the top of my panel with Peeled Paint Distress Ink, layering on the Splish Splash Stencil with Pine Needles Distress Ink for a textured, forest-like background.
Here’s a little pro tip: stencils are a game changer when it comes to adding subtle patterns and depth to your backgrounds without overwhelming the focal point.
Once my background was ready, I colored the reindeer using my trusty Triblend Brush Markers. I love how these markers make blending a breeze, even for beginners. The finished card has a soft, natural look that’s perfect for sending warm holiday wishes.
Winter Wonderland Snowman
Next up is a card that brings a playful, frosty feel to your mailbox. The 1 Line Snowman Stamp Set is all about fun, and I knew I wanted a light and airy background to complement this cheerful little guy.
I masked off the snowman and ink blended the top of the card with Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. This combination gives a soft, pastel winter sky that feels magical. To add a bit more dimension, I layered the Overlapping Circles Stencil using the same inks.
Here’s a story for you: I once made a similar card and sent it to a friend who lived in Florida. She told me it was the closest thing to a snowman she’d seen in years!
For the snowman, I kept the coloring simple, focusing on clean lines and subtle shading with my Triblend Brush Markers. A few highlights with a white gel pen brought him to life.
Classic Christmas Holly
Our final card is a nod to tradition, with a bold, red backdrop and classic holly. The 1 Line Holly Stamp Set is one of those staples that you’ll reach for again and again.
I masked off the holly and blended the top section with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink—a rich, vibrant red that screams Christmas. To elevate the background, I used the Candy Twist Stencil with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. The tone-on-tone effect is stunning and adds just the right amount of interest.
When coloring the holly, I leaned into traditional greens and reds, but here’s another pro tip: don’t be afraid to experiment with unconventional colors like deep purples or icy blues for a modern twist.
Finishing Touches
Now, you know I love a good finishing touch. For each card, I added white gel pen highlights to my colored images—these small details make a big difference in making your designs pop. I also outlined the Reindeer and Holly cards with a Gold Gel Pen and the Snowman card with a Silver Gel Pen. This simple step frames the designs beautifully and gives them a polished, professional look.
To add a little sparkle (because it’s Christmas, after all!), I used Stardust Stickles sparingly on each card. Finally, I scattered a few Clear Enamel Dots from The Rabbit Hole Designs near the sentiments for a touch of shine.
